The Entrepreneurship and Technology pathway in Grade 9 (moving into Grade 10 2027-28) is an interdisciplinary, inquiry-based programme that blends core IB MYP subject groups, with a strong emphasis on innovation, digital tools, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Programme Overview
This new pathway encourages students to generate ideas and connect classroom learning to real-world challenges. They will be exploring how technology drives business ideas, sustainable solutions, and global impact, while developing practical skills through hands-on projects such as:
Prototyping
Startup Simulations
Digital Innovation Labs
  • Rich Extracurricular Programme
The day programme is complemented by a rich extracurricular programme that builds on skills, provides opportunities for deep engagement in project development, develops strong leadership skills and enables the students to generate a range of evidence that leads to recognised qualifications and certifications from Microsoft, NFTE and Pearson. In addition, students will prepare for and participate in global challenges and competitions.
Pathway Objectives
  • Cultivate Entrepreneurial Mindset
Generating ideas, assessing opportunities, managing risks, and building resilience through iterative processes.

  • Develop Technological Proficiency
Using tools for coding, digital design, prototyping (e.g., 3D modeling or basic app development), and emerging technologies like AI basics or data analysis.

  • Apply Interdisciplinary Inquiry
Connect concepts from business planning, design, ethics, and technology in project-based learning (e.g., creating viable product prototypes or business models).
  • Strengthen ATL Skills
Enhance collaboration, critical thinking, research, communication (including pitching ideas), and self-management in real-world contexts.
  • Promote Ethical & Sustainable Practices
Explore the social, environmental, and economic implications of technology and entrepreneurship.
  • Prepare for Future Pathways
Build foundations for advanced studies in either the DP (academic rigor) or CP (career-focused application), while encouraging innovation and leadership.
  • This pathway is for students who are:
Innovative and curious: Constantly asking "How can this be better?" or "What if we tried this?"
Tech-enthusiastic: Excited by coding, gadgets, apps, robotics, or digital creation, even if they're beginners.
Entrepreneurial: Enjoy brainstorming business ideas, taking initiative, and turning concepts into action (e.g., through clubs, side projects, or competitions).
Collaborative problem-solvers: Thrive in team settings, leading or contributing to group projects, and learning from failure.
Future-oriented and resilient: Comfortable with uncertainty, risk, and iteration; motivated by real-world impact rather than rote learning.
Strong communicators: Able to pitch ideas, present prototypes, and articulate solutions clearly.
  • Where will students go?
Students completing this pathway are well-prepared for post-MYP options in Grades 11–12, where they can choose either the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for a more academically rigorous route or the IB Career-related Programme (CP) for a career-focused, hands-on pathway emphasising entrepreneurship and technology application.
IB Diploma Programme (DP) Route
Students pursue a coherent subject selection that builds on their MYP experiences:

  • Key DP subjects often include Business Management (SL/HL), Computer Science (SL/HL), Design Technology (SL/HL), Languages (SL/HL), and Mathematics (SL/HL).
  • Their Extended Essay might focus on entrepreneurial innovation, tech ethics, or startup feasibility.
  • CAS experiences could involve launching school ventures, organizing hackathons, or community tech projects.
IB Career-related Programme (CP) Entrepreneurship Pathway
This flexible, career-oriented alternative combines IB Diploma courses with a dedicated career-related study ( BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship or SUMAS Sustainable Entrepreneurship) and the unique CP core. It is ideal for students eager to apply entrepreneurial and tech skills in practical, real-world settings while maintaining IB rigor.

This pathway emphasises hands-on experiences like workplace collaborations, ethical reflections, and portfolio-building, preparing students directly for entrepreneurial roles or further vocational/higher education.
Beyond Grades 11-12
Students will be equipped with mindset and skills to create, adapt, and lead in an evolving global economy, whether through academic depth (DP) or applied career readiness (CP).
  • University degrees in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Digital Innovation, Sustainable Business, or related fields at leading institutions.
  • Involvement in startup incubators, accelerators, hackathons, or competitions (e.g., university entrepreneurship programs).
  • Careers such as tech entrepreneurs, product managers, software developers, innovation consultants, data analysts, or roles in sustainable tech and impact-driven companies.
  • Advanced opportunities like MBAs, specialized tech master's programs, apprenticeships in fintech/edtech/green innovation, or launching their own ventures.
