Deborah Economou is an accomplished educational leader with over three decades of experience in British and international schools, including headship roles across the UK, Cyprus, and Indonesia. A passionate advocate of inquiry-based learning and student autonomy, she has served as Head of Secondary at the British School Jakarta, Principal of The Junior and Senior School in Nicosia, and Headteacher at prominent schools in both Cyprus and the UK.
Her expertise spans multiple curricula, including IB MYP and DP, IGCSE, and A Levels, with a deep commitment to modern pedagogy, wellbeing, and positive psychology. Deborah holds an MA in Educational Management, Open University, UK, a Diploma in Positive Psychology, Langley Group Institute, Australia, BA in French and Spanish from the University of Durham, UK, PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages from the University of York, the UK National Professional Qualification in Headship and has completed numerous IB leadership certifications.
