MYP Grade 7 Visual Arts – Threads of Time: Frame Loom Tapestry

Secondary
This week, MYP Grade 7 students finished their final free-standing flower artworks. In this unit, Threads of Time, they explored different ways to create flowers using both 2D and 3D techniques.

Students began by experimenting with flower paintings and photography. They then took part in a weaving workshop where they learned basic weaving patterns and made woven flowers using paper plates.

After that, they created a flower pot, working on the stem and painting the pot to complete their final piece.

The focus of this unit was on the ATL skill: Thinking, and the IB Learner Profile: Thinkers. Students used creative thinking and problem-solving as they developed their ideas and completed their artworks.
