We are excited to announce a photography contest open to all MYP and DP students, starting on Monday 12 January. Students are invited to submit their photographs to Mr. Cristian Tanious by 12 February. For these submissions, please include the following:

There will be 10 categories to choose from, and students may submit one photo per category. From each category, the top three photographs will be selected and displayed for our photo exhibition at the end of February and the students will vote for which out of those categories they like the most. The final winner of those will be selected for our Arts Exhibition in June.
The Categories are:
1. Landscape A wide, horizontal image of nature with no main subject in the foreground. Theme: Forest
2. Still Life A carefully arranged, unmoving subject photographed with intention. Theme: Fruits
3. Portrait A full-body or detail-focused photograph designed to advertise a shoe. Students should think about pose, lighting, and composition as if creating a real advertisement. Theme: Shoe Advertisement
4. Nature A close-up photograph focusing on details found in nature. Theme: Insects
5. Black & White A photograph using only black, white, and shades of grey to communicate mood or meaning. Theme: Generations
6. Micro & Macro Two images of the same subject shown side by side, taken from different distances or perspectives. Theme: Power
7. Color & Contrast A photograph using bright, vivid colors and strong contrast to create visual impact. Theme: Chilly Autumn Day
8. Architecture A photograph focusing on man-made buildings or structures. Theme: Modern
9. Street Photography A candid photograph taken in the moment, showing real life or movement. Theme: Skateboarding
10. Symbolism A photograph that communicates a deeper meaning or message beyond what is visible. Theme: Religion
