In Pre-Primary 3A, during Greek lesson students explored a traditional Greek Christmas custom by learning about the decoration of the Christmas boat. Through storytelling, they discovered the role of sailors in Greek culture and the significance of the boat as a symbol of hope, journey, and celebration. The children then applied their learning by designing and decorating their own boats, developing their creativity and fine motor skills. This lesson supported the IB Primary Years Programme by encouraging inquiry, cultural awareness, and meaningful connections to local traditions, while fostering curiosity and respect for different ways communities celebrate important events.
