Waldorf Classes 1,2,3 and Montessori Primary will be going to the Forest Programme after the winter holiday.

Waldorf Montessori
Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are delighted to share that children from Waldorf Classes 1,2,3 and Montessori Primary will be going to the Forest Programme after the winter holiday. This is a valuable learning opportunity which encourages children to develop independence, collaboration, resilience and a deeper connection with the natural world.

To ensure that students are comfortable, safe and ready to participate fully, please take note of the required clothing and equipment:

Clothing and Equipment

  • Closed-toe shoes are essential.
  • Waterproof hiking boots or wellington boots should be worn in wet weather.
  • A coat should be brought if the weather is cold or rainy.
  • Trousers must be worn (shorts are not suitable due to brambles and undergrowth), waterproof trousers are better in winter or wet weather.
  • A filled water bottle must be brought each morning. Refilling will be available on site if needed.
  • Children may bring a snack with them in a rucksack as we will have a snack break during the session.
  • Mosquito and tick season is approaching as the weather warms, if you wish to, please spray your child's clothes with a deet based repellent (spraying skin is not necessary).

Arrival and Attendance

  • Children must arrive at school on time by 8:20am.
  • The bus will depart promptly at 8:40am and will not wait for late arrivals.
  • If your child is late, does not have the correct clothing, or is not attending the Forest Sessions, they are still expected to attend school and will join a peer class for the morning. Attendance will be recorded by the peer teacher.

Weekly Schedule for Forest Sessions (Second Cohort)

  • Monday 2nd March: Waldorf Class 2
  • Tuesday 3rd March: Waldorf Class 3
  • Thursday 5th March: Waldorf Class 1
  • Friday 6th March: Montessori Primary

Sessions will continue weekly on the same day for each group and will run until the end of the half term, finishing in the week ending Friday 3rd April.

If your child is unable to attend a session, please inform their homeroom teacher so that alternative arrangements can be made.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming the students to the forest and supporting them as they learn and grow through hands-on experiences, exploration and a deeper engagement with nature.

Warm regards,
Alyssia Clare
Forest School Leader and Teacher
