Maria Konstantinou joined our PE teaching team in September 2025. Maria brings a unique combination of professional athletic experience, academic training, and a deep passion for inclusive, engaging physical education. A proud graduate of the American Academy Limassol and now a member of the Cyprus National Basketball Team, Maria has played semi-professionally in both Cyprus and Greece, representing her country in international competitions such as the EuroCup and the Special Olympics Unified Sports. Her athletic background is complemented by academic qualifications in Sports & Exercise Science (BSc, University of Aberdeen) and Sports & Exercise Psychology (MSc, Staffordshire University). Before joining our school, Maria taught Physical Education at the American Academy Limassol, where she designed inclusive PE lessons, coached extracurricular basketball, and prepared students for Edexcel GCSE and A-Level PE exams. Her passion for creating positive, accessible learning environments is evident in her work with students of all abilities, including those with special educational needs. Maria’s vibrant energy, team spirit, and commitment to student wellbeing make her a wonderful addition to our learning community. She’s especially excited to contribute to our Forest School and sports initiatives, and to inspire every child to move, play, and grow with confidence.
