The Forest Programme has had a truly inspiring beginning, with our first cohort — Waldorf Classes 4 and 5, and PYP 5A and 5B — already embracing their Forest School sessions with enthusiasm, curiosity, and teamwork.
Over the past two weeks, students have enjoyed immersing themselves in the outdoors through a range of hands-on activities, including den building, flora and fauna exploration and identification, knife skills and whittling, natural mosaics, and outdoor games. Each session has provided new opportunities for discovery, creativity, and connection with the environment.
It has been a joy to see the children demonstrate such excellent collaboration and communication skills, as well as genuine care for the environment and one another. Their sense of responsibility and teamwork has grown quickly, and the forest has already become a space of calm, focus, and shared joy.
We’ve also begun giving back to our environment by using our walk to and from the bus as a chance to collect any litter we find and dispose of it appropriately — a simple but meaningful way to show care for our surroundings.
These first sessions mark the start of a six-week journey leading up to the winter break, and we look forward to seeing how our students continue to develop their confidence, practical skills, and connection to nature. After the winter break, we’ll be delighted to welcome the next cohort of classes to begin their own Forest adventures.
