18th Rose Festival of Agros

2026-04-30 11:12
Every May, the picturesque mountain village of Agros transforms into a fragrant paradise, and this year is no different. The 18th Rose Festival of Agros is set to take place over two beautiful weekends — 9–10 and 16–17 May 2026 — at the Glafkos Clerides Sport Centre, welcoming visitors from across Cyprus and beyond.

Nestled in the Pitsilia area of the Troodos Mountains, Agros is home to the famous Rose of Damascus — a special variety introduced to the village at the beginning of the 20th century — and today the village produces around 20 tons of roses annually. The festival is a joyful celebration of this rich tradition and the community that has kept it alive for generations.

Visitors can explore local workshops, learn about the rose distillation process, browse kiosks selling traditional rose-based products, and enjoy folk dance and music performances throughout the festival. From rose oil and perfumes to rose-petal preserves, brandy, and liqueurs, the range of handcrafted products on offer is as rich as the scent that fills the mountain air.

Entry to the festival is completely free for all visitors, making it a wonderful outing for families, couples, and anyone looking to experience the very best of Cypriot village culture.

Whether you're a first-time visitor or a returning fan, the 18th Rose Festival of Agros promises an unforgettable experience — one that engages all the senses and leaves you with a deep appreciation for the beauty of Cyprus and its traditions. 🌸
