Gold, Bronze, and a First: Our French Students Shine at the Kangaroo Olympiad

2026-05-22 11:19
On Wednesday, 20th May, I had the pleasure of attending the award ceremony for the Kangaroo Olympiad, and it was a truly proud and emotional moment to see so many students from The Island Private School of Limassol being recognised for their achievements in English, Maths, Greek and French.

I was especially delighted to celebrate the success of our French students. Amadis Lourenço achieved an outstanding Gold medal in Level 6, while Anthony Assio (Level 6) and Anna Krutova (Level 7) both earned Bronze medals. These excellent results placed The Island Private School alongside some of the most established schools participating in the competition and reflected the dedication, enthusiasm, and progress of our French learners.

What makes this achievement even more special is that this was the very first year our school participated in the French Kangaroo Olympiad. To see our students already achieving such remarkable results is incredibly encouraging and inspiring. We are proud not only of the medals themselves, but also of the confidence, perseverance, and curiosity our students demonstrated throughout the process.

Achievements like these are never the result of one person alone. They are made possible through the hard work and determination of the students, the constant support and encouragement of their families, and the dedication of teachers who guide, motivate, and inspire them every day. We hope this is only the beginning of a wonderful tradition and look forward to seeing even more Island students participate - and shine - in the years to come.
